A cropped cardigan cut boxy through the body, ending just above the natural waist so it sits clean over a high-waisted trouser or jean rather than bunching above it. Two patch pockets sit low on the front, their ribbed openings holding shape when there are keys or a phone in them, and five tonal buttons run up the placket to a ribbed crew neckband that finishes the neck without adding a collar to fight with a scarf.
The knit is soft and lightly brushed, with enough body in it to keep the boxy line from going slack after a few wears. Shoulders drop past the seam and the sleeves carry a little volume before they gather into a long ribbed cuff, which is what keeps a cropped shape from reading stiff on the arm. The deep ribbed hem holds the bottom edge flat where it lands, so the crop stays a crop.
