An oversized coat cut long enough to fall past the calf, with a wide lapel that runs the full length of the front. It is meant to be worn open, so the lapel lies flat down both sides and the whole coat moves in one piece when you walk. The shoulder is dropped and the sleeve is generous through the arm, which is what gives the coat its unhurried line rather than a tailored one.
The cloth has a soft nubbed surface and enough body to hold the lapel upright when you turn it against the wind. Deep pockets sit at the hip, set high enough to reach into without stooping for them. The length does most of the work on this one: it covers a dress completely, and over leggings or a slim trouser it reads as a deliberate choice rather than something thrown on at the door on the way out.
